AGE LIMIT: Upper age limit is 30 years as on 30.06.2013.RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
The relaxation in age and reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Exserviceman/J&K Migrants will be as per the Govt. norms & directives.

MEDICAL FITNESS:

1. The cut off date for deciding the maximum permissible age and experience as per eligibility criteria shall

 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: 
1. All the qualifications specified above should be recognized by UGC/AICTE. The year of passing in the
qualifying examination for the position of Trainee Workmen shall not be earlier than May, 2012
accordingly, those who have passed out before May, 2012 need not to apply for the post of
trainee workmen.
2. Candidates must apply in the prescribed format duly signed with date and complete information enclosing
attested photocopies of original certificates , proof of age, educational qualification, experience and caste
certificate(For SC/ST categories only) along with copy of challan fee with a recent passport size photograph.
3. SC/ST/PWD Candidates called for interview/written test if any, shall be reimbursed 2nd class
rail fare / bus fare towards Traveling Allowance from their correspondence address in
India on production of actual tickets by the shortest route. Local travel cost, if any,
shall be borne by the candidates.
4 . Location of the job is at Mangalore. However, employees are liable to be transferred to any place
 in India or abroad, within the same Organization, one of the group companies of ONGC or any
 other Organization.
5. Allowances and perquisites shall be as admissible for the grade.
6. The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination in case of workmen should be
60% for General, OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PWD. Percentage of marks should be aggregate of all
years/semesters i.e, total marks obtained over total maximum marks of all years/semesters.
7. In case large numbers of applications are received, Management reserves the right to raise the
minimum eligibility standards/ criteria.
8. The eligible candidates so selected as Trainee Workmen shall be placed under training for a
period of two years. During the training period, they shall receive Basic pay in the corresponding
scale of pay as mentioned, applicable DA and perks @ 46 % of basic pay.
9. The eligible candidates selected as Workmen, apart from the basic as specified in the scale of
pay, would also entitle for applicable DA & Perks @46% of basic pay among other benefits as
per the rules of the company.
10. Shortlisted candidates shall be required to appear in a written test. Candidates who qualify in the
written test shall be interviewed.
11.Requests for change of category once declared in the application will not be entertained.
12. Age Relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years for SC/ST, PC – 10 years, Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen
(EXSM) as per Govt. directives.
13. Experience in PSU/ Private needs to be specified.
14. The vacancies notified for SC/ST candidates include the backlog vacancies also.
15. Persons employed in Government Organizations/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies owned by

16. The vacancies and reservation indicated above is tentative and may increase or decrease in the relevant

the time of appointment. Depending on the requirement, the Company reserves the right to cancel / restrict
/ curtail / enlarge the number of vacancies and recruitment process, if need so arises, without any further

17. Satisfactory Character & Antecedents report would be required once selected and the Management reserves

18. Performance appraisals duly certified may be obtained for last 5/3 years, in respect of candidates applying

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :
1. Citizenship – only candidates who are citizen of India are eligible.
2. Qualification – 10th Pass
3. Age Limit – The sports person should be minimum of 18 years of age and
maximum of 25 years of age as on 01/07/2013.
SPORTS PERFORMANCE :
Candidate applying for recruitment must fulfill the following minimum
Sports performance criteria.:
a. Represented the country in any of the Category-C
Championships/Events:
Category C :
Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior category)
Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior category)
South Asian Federation Games (senior category)
b. Atleast 3rd position in Federation Cup Championship (senior category).
Or
c. Represented a state or equivalent unit in Senior/Youth/Junior National
Championships.
Or
d. Atleast 3rd position in Senior State Championships for all units and
District of the state.
e. In addition to above in Chess candidates having 2300 or more Rating
points in last two consecutive FIDE Rating lists can also apply.f. In Rifle Shooting for recognized domestic championships as mentioned
above only the individual performance of the candidate shall be
considered for recruitment purpose. ‘All India GV Mavlankar Shooting
Championship’ is not recognized for this recruitment purpose.
Note:
1. For recruitment of Sportspersons on the basis of sports achievements in
Junior National Championships (Men Category), the following age groups
shall only be considered.
(i) Athletic (U-20) Junior National Athletic Championship.
(ii) Basket Ball (U-18) Junior National Basket Ball Championship.
(iii) Chess (U-19) Junior National Chess Championship.
(iv) Shooting (U-21) National Shooting Championships, Competition
(for all age groups).
(v) Wrestling (U-20) Junior National Wrestling Championship.
2. All the championships mentioned above should be conducted under the
aegis of recognized International/National/State Sports Federations and
also recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
3. In team sports, only sports persons who have actually played the sport in
field, shall only be eligible. Therefore, a sports person who represents as
member of a team in any recognized sports events/championships but
has actually not played in the field, shall not be considered for recruitment
against sports quota. To verify, if sports person has actually played the
sports in field, a certificate to this effect alongwith the details of matches
and result issued by concerned Sports Federations/Indian Olympic
Association and Association of Indian Universities to be attached
alongwith application form, failing which, the application form will be
rejected.
4. Sports achievements in the current and /or immediate previous two
financial years i.e. 2011-12, 2012-13 shall be taken into account and
therefore Sports achievement on or after 01/4/2011 shall only be
considered for appointment and Sports person should be an active player.
5. ATTESTED CERTIFICATES :
Only attested copies of certificates regarding sports performance
educational qualification, date of birth, Caste certificate should be sent
alongwith the Character Certificate of the institution last attended otherwise
application will be treated as cancelled.
6. NO ALLOWANCES :
No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate, appearing for the selection
trial/interview
7. SELECTION PROCEDURE :
The selection procedure for short-listing of eligible candidate would
involve
(i) Trial of sports performance.
(ii) Interview-assessment of sports achievements, educational
qualifications and other criteria for selection.
(iii) The original education, date of birth proof and sports certificates may
be shown at the time of trial/interview otherwise the candidate will
not be allowed to attend the trial procedure.
(iv) Candidates declared unfit during the trial by the Trial Committee shall
not be considered for the next stage by the Recruitment Commttee.
8. HOW TO APPLY :
The candidate fulfilling the condition regarding eligibility of age,
educational qualification and other eligibility criteria should apply for the
post notified as per application formats given at Annexure –A (attached
herewith) on a good quality plain paper of A-4 size alongwith two latest
passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted officer. The
application should be filled in by the candidate in their own hand writing and
sent through ordinary post only on the following address.

9. OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES:
i. Last date for receipt of application is 02.08.2013 and no applications will
be entertained after the last date. If the last date of application happens to
be a holiday, the application will be considered on next working day. The
applications should be sent in sealed envelopes and dispatched through
ordinary post only. Applications received through Courier/Registered
AD/Speed Post or Registered post will not be entertained/accepted in
any case.
ii. The envelope in which application is being sent should be given caption in
capital letters as 400E/118/Sports/Rectt./DLI/2013. Event for which
applied should be written in the bracket.
iii. Only the application found complete in all respect will be entertained.
iv. Application which is not as per the format as per Annexure ‘A’ will be
summarily rejected.v. Unsigned/incomplete applications will be rejected.
vi. Each application should be submitted alongwith the application fee of
Rs.40/- (Rs. Forty only) non-refundable including postal charges through
a Crossed Indian Postal Order payable at New Delhi in the name of
Divisional Sports Association, Northern Railway, Delhi Division
though ordinary dak only. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are
exempted from payment of application fee.
vii.Candidates who do not fulfill all the eligibility criteria need not apply
otherwise their applications will be summarily rejected.
viii Candidature of the candidate, who fails to appear in the trial/interview
and
selection on the date and place fixed for the purpose will be cancelled
without further notice.
ix. Railway Administration reserves all rights of recruitment of sports
persons in any game/position for which suitable outstanding sports
persons are available.
x. The decision of the Recruitment Committee on all matters relating to
eligibility, place, date, mode of selection, acceptance, and rejection shall be
final and binding on the candidates.
xi. The application should be made either in Hindi or English.
xii.The shortlisted eligible candidates may require to stay for 2 to 3 days at
the trail venue for the selection procedure for which they will have to
make their own arrangements for accommodation.
xiii. The venue will be advised later to the candidates selected for the
trail/interview.
xiv. No residential accommodation will be made available to the selected
candidates.
xv. Only attested copies of certificates may be sent with the application form.
The original certificates may be shown at the time of selection
trial/interview.
xvi. The selected candidates will be liable to serve on any post/any
department and anywhere in Delhi Division subject to training course, if
any, so prescribed. xvii. The selected candidates would be required to undergo medical

I. Eligibility Conditions:-
1. Essential:- a} A President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge OR
Scouting Qualifications A Pre-Himalayan Wood Badge Holder Trained Scout Leader/ Advanced Trained
Guide/ Leader/ Captain.
b} Should have been an active member of Scout & Guide Organisation for at least
03Years in the recent past and should continue to be active.
c} Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two event at
State level OR Should have a good record of participation in Scout & Guide
activities at Unit/ District Level.
2. Educational Qualification:- Passed 10th from recognized schools/ boards.
3. Age Limit:-(I). 18 to 33 Years as on 01-07-13 {Age relaxation as per of Govt. of India instruction
to SC/ST/OBC Candidates i.e. 5yrs. to SC/ST Candidates & 3yrs. to OBC
Candidates.}
(II). Examination Fees:- For General & OBC Candidate Rs. 40/- by Indian Postal Order only, in favour of Sr. DFM, N.Rly, Ambala, payable at Ambala. Examination Fees is not refundable under any
circumstances including time bared/ rejected application. IPO obtained earlier than the date of
issue and later than closing date of the Employment notice will not be accepted. {However no
fees for SC/ST candidates.}
Note :- 1} Incomplete & application received after 31.07.13 will not be considered. 2} Eligible Candidate
only will be called for Written Test and will be informed through Regd Postal letter. 3} Railway
administration reserve the right to cancel the selection in the exceptional circumstances and or in
the event of any change in the recruitment policy. 4} Only the candidates who possess the

PAY SCALE AND OTHER ALLOWANCES: -

b) Other allowances: The post will carry Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Washing 
Allowance as admissible from time to time, Special Compensatory Allowance while posted

2.         EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(I) FOR POSTS in PB-1 `.5200-20200 with corresponding Grade Pay `. 1900/- / PB-1 `. 5200-20200/- with Grade Pay `. 2000/-

Passed Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50%marks in aggregate. Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate is not applicable to SC/ST candidates and to those candidates (Irrespective of community),who possess qualifications higher than matriculation such as HSC/Intermediate/Graduation/Post Graduation.(or)

Act Apprenticeship / ITI . No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as  an  alternative qualification. Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT/NCVT.

(II) FOR POSTS in PB-1`.5200-20200/- with corresponding Grade Pay `. 1800/-.
Minimum 10th pass or ITI or equivalent at the time of applying.
