Recruitment for BRNS Project
Applications are invited on Plain paper along with necessary documents at the level of JRF/SRF in the BRNS funded theoretical Physics project entitled Underlying thermodynamic transitions in a liquid funded by DAE-BRNS Research Project, Govt. of India for a duration up to two years (2013-2015) maximum.
Eligibility : A. For JRF/SRF : M.Sc in Physics (55%). Age below 30 years.
NET/GATE qualification and/or students intending to work towards completion of a doctoral thesis will be given preference.
The intended research involves extensively working with computers and development of numerical techniques. The candidate must have a good experience of working with numerical methods. JOB VACANCIES FOR 'THE BODY IN INDIAN ART' a project based at JNU funded by ICCR.
(i): Exhibition Manager / In Charge.
Profile: in charge of the administration and correspondence with relevant staff at the offices of the publishers, editors, Europalia, ICCR, JNU, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of External Affairs, so as to expedite the Insurance of artworks, Export Licences via ASI, liaising with Museums and collectors of the artworks. This person will see to the timely disbursement of funds for the smooth functioning of the curator's office and Will maintain databases of all works undertaken by all members of the team that are in progress and required for the project in order to be able to maintain timelines and deadlines for each member of the team and help with the work of all other team members.
Qualifications: postgraduate with at least five years experience.
Emoluments: Will draw a monthly salary of Rs. 50,000 (consolidated) for a period not exceeding one year.

(ii) Editor
Profile: 
The job is suited well to someone who has experience in working in the field of academic publishing and with an interest in the arts. Will edit all final and preparatory gallery texts, labels, catalogue entries, book(s), articles being generated out of the office of the Principal Investigator / Curator; Will draft and prepare the final Press Kit for the exhibition; Will liaise with all authors contributing to the book(s) for the timely delivery of text and communicate editorial changes to authors in a timely manner; Maintain on-line blogs / web-presence in preparation for the exhibitions and coordinate forums / discussion groups on the same.
Qualifications: post graduate with at least three years experience in the field and fully conversant in using relevant computer programmes as are necessary for publishing illustrated books, text-based work and databases.
Emoluments: Monthly salary of Rs. 45,000 (consolidated) for a period not exceeding one year.

(iii) Research Officer / Subject Expert:
Profile: 
The job is ideally suited to someone who is an art-historian / historian/ specialist on Indian religion or philosophy & who wishes to focus on classical Indian visual art and philosophy. The person is expected author draft catalogue entries for all artworks in the exhibition, maintain and update the library for the exhibition and all bibliographic / citation entries for the draft catalogue entries and all other publication work undertaken by the office; Will, if necessary, be ready to travel to any location outside Delhi for work; Will coordinate the manufacturing of all commissioned art works and or exhibition design elements; Will liaise with photographers, and maintain a database of images for the publication, including image research from archives.
Qualifications: post-graduate with at least five years experience in the field.
Emoluments: Will draw a monthly salary of Rs. 40,000 (consolidated) for a period not exceeding one year. Travel allowances extra, as per ICCR's norms.

(iv) Research Assistant
Profile: 
The job is ideally suited to a young graduate or post graduate who wishes to develop a career in art history and specifically in curatorial research, learning to handle original artwork. Will, if necessary, be ready to travel to any location outside Delhi for work; Will coordinate the manufacturing of all commissioned art works and or exhibition design elements and will Maintain address books / contacts lists as relevant for the exhibition and its outreach in India.
Qualifications: Will be at least a graduate in the field of history / Art and Aesthetics.
Emoluments: Will draw a monthly salary of Rs. 16,000 (consolidated) for a period not exceeding one year. Travel allowances extra, as per ICCR's norms.

(v) Specialist Writers/Subject Experts
Profile: 
This is 4-person position inviting candidates. Ideally suited to post graduates who have a background and interest in Art History, Indian Crafts, Indian Miniature Paintings, Ancient Indian History and/or Sanskrit and specifically in curatorial research, learning to handle original artwork. Will coordinate the manufacturing of all commissioned art works and or exhibition design elements and will maintain address books / contacts list as relevant for the exhibition and its outreach in India.
Qualifications: Will be at least a post-graduate in the field of history / Art and Aesthetics.
Emoluments: Will draw a total honorarium of Rs. 1,20,000 (consolidated) each for a period not exceeding six months.

(v) Office Assistant / Accountant / PA
Profile: 
Will prepare weekly account statements of expenditures and reimbursements and assist other team members in all work. Will have knowledge of office management, computer database management.

Emoluments: Will draw a monthly salary of Rs. 16,000 (consolidated) for a period not exceeding one year.

Profile:

Emoluments: Rs. 9,000 per month for a period not exceeding one year.
